I’m very late in posting this, but here are some photo highlights from our trip to San Francisco (May 14 – 21, 2013). Christian introduced me to the world of
Google IO by winning this trip with his excellent maps contest project : Â www.ttcpass.com.
The keynote and after hours party.
The giant mechanical hand crushed metal barrels, controlled with a glove.
One of the best meals of the trip was at this little wine bar around the corner from the conference venue. My marshmallow sweet potato veggie burger looks like it’s foaming at the mouth, but it was the most delicious combination of flavours.
After the conference we spent some time taking in the town. We picked up
City Passes, which got us access to 1) The California Academy of Sciences (a big highlight for me), 2) A Bay Cruise, 3) Aquarium of the Bay, 4) the De Young art museum, and 5) transit including the old cable car system.
De Young museum.
Christian’s supervisor told us to visit the Musee Mechanqu at Fisherman’s Wharf, and it was so fun! This is Christian getting his fortune.
Christian really loved the trees.
Hotels are always lots of fun, and we stayed at some great places. The
Pickwick hotel during the conference, and the Marina Inn (above).
