I got to break in my new hiking shoes recently on our trip to New Zealand. We did a number of short nature hikes, and some good urban walks too, but I’ll focus here on the trails. I mentioned before that we did a bit of hiking around the Mt. Cook area and the scenery and weather were amazing. We spent some time on the Governors Bush Walk, Glencoe Stream Walk, Bowen Bush Walk, the Kea Point trail, and Sealy Tarns trail. Later in the trip we stayed in a little A-frame cabin in Makarora (which was freezing, but super fun), and did a bit of tramping around the area. We didn’t have a lot of time, but we did a portion of the Mount Shrimpton Track. The last little walk we did was in Franz Joseph one evening – the Tatare Tunnels Walk. Christian did a bit of singing down in the mining tunnel.
Christian is always very serious on the trail.
