Gloucester & Salem

My dad and Donna visited us this past weekend, and we packed in a lot of sights! Friday night we had a nice meal at the Rosebud around the corner from us (swordfish highly recommended). Saturday we had incredible heat, and I didn’t take many photos, but we toured all around Beacon hill, had a drink at Cheers, ate the worlds best lobster roll (I assume… I had potato salad), checked out Faneuil Hall, had a tour of MIT, and finished the day with a great dinner at the southern-inspired BBQ joint Redbones in Somerville. Sunday we travelled north to Gloucester for a whale watching trip. We ended up turning back because of dangerous weather, but the ride was still an adventure and we got to see the memorial where Christian’s great great grandfather James Wilkie was listed for being lost at sea at age 51. With some extra time on our hands we stopped in at Salam, visited the Salem Witch Museum, and walked along a beautiful old street. Thoroughly tired out we had one last meal in Somerville at the Somerville Flatbread Company (a fun joint with wood fired pizza and bowling).
