Fitzroy, Melbourne

We had planned to visit Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens this weekend, but the weather was very dreary, cold and wet, so we decided to stick to our own neighbourhood instead. Just to the East of us is a neighbourhood called Fitzroy and it’s stuffed with excellent restaurants, art shops, and design stores. We also were lucky enough to stumble across a little Japanese vintage shop just around the corner. The owner had opened up the apartment in the back of the store and was cooking up vegetarian Okonomiyaki for donation. It was delicious. Christian also took me out for amazing vegetarian food at an Indian place (Shakahari) just a few doors down from our apartment. And we finished off the weekend with a piece of delicious strawberry cake from this really popular Italian coffee and sweet shop down the street called Brunetti. Perfect weekend.

  1. Thank you Kristie
For all your wonderful posts….it is so nice to see where you live… Almost like being there. Wish I were able to wander around with you. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  2. Hey Kristie, it’s Kelly from Seneca! Just stumbled across your blog, and will totally keep reading. BTW, my pet rabbit looks JUST like the one in the first photo (with the spot) — I had to check to make sure he was still here and hadn’t hopped a plane. πŸ™‚

    1. Great to hear from you Kelly, and I hope things are going well. Nothing more cute or surprising in a day than noticing a courtyard full of bunnies through a store window eh?
